Welcome!
Please join us at the 2nd running of the Bay Area 100 on June 12, 2027. Starting at the gates of California Memorial Stadium, you'll experience a 100-mile journey through some of California's most breathtaking terrain. The course both inspires awe and challenges runners: 100 miles point-to-point, 18,000ft of vertical gain, 33 hours to finish. Ridgelines, redwoods, weather extremes, panoramic views stretching from the Golden Gate to Mt. Diablo. And there's something more that makes this race special — the people who run it, crew it, pace it, and cheer it. More than a dozen Bay Area running and community groups played major roles in getting runners to the finish line in 2026, and they're excited to take part again. With so much commitment and participation, we're hearing the Bay Area 100 referred to as "The People's 100": tough enough to earn, approachable enough to attempt, and supported in a way that inspires.
The Course
The Bay Area 100 feels as remote as a mountain hundred, but it runs on the edge of a major city — which means your crew, your family, and your friends can actually get to you. It is a point-to-point course that starts at California Memorial Stadium and finishes on the track at Skyline High School in Oakland, California. With 18,000ft of vertical, this race is designed to challenge you while also showing you the best views, ascents, and descents the SF/Bay Area has to offer. Navigate across bay crests and exposed ridges, through redwood forest, and along lake shore on fire trail as you push through Bay View, Las Trampas, Lake Chabot, and Redwood territories. Each section offers its own unique triumph.
Time Limits, Cutoffs, Aid Stations
The Bay Area 100 starts at 5am and has a 33-hour time limit. There will be no early start this year.
There will be cutoffs starting at 10:00 am. All aid station locations will be presented in the 2027 Athlete Guide, which will be available mid-August.
Qualifying Times to Enter
We recommend a 50-mile race within a year of running this race. You'll be asked for your race, its date, your time during pre-registration. If you do not have a qualifying time, you'll also have an option to ask for an exception. Our goal is to simply ensure you are likely to succeed.
Qualifying Status - UTMB
The Bay Area 100 is a UTMB index race. You time will be entered within two weeks of completion.
Our status as a Western States Qualifier is pending. Check back in September or join the waitlist for updates.
