Description

The Standhope Ultra Challenge offers three rugged distances—100 Mile, 60K, and 30K—through Idaho's remote Pioneer Mountains. Expect high-altitude adventure, huge climbs, technical trails, mountain lakes, and some of the wildest terrain Idaho has to offer.

Standhope is a hard race, but we don't believe getting to the start line should have to be harder than it already is—especially for moms.

We're proud to be an ultra that actively supports mother athletes. Standhope offers dedicated pumping and nursing spaces, refrigerated breast milk transportation during the race, pregnancy and postpartum deferrals, and additional support designed to help moms continue pursuing big goals while raising their families.

We believe you can be a mom and still do really hard things in the mountains—and we're working to build a race where you don't have to choose between the two.

A True Backcountry Race

While we work hard to make Standhope welcoming, the courses themselves are anything but easy.

Climbs reach nearly 11,000 feet, aid stations are remote and hiked in by volunteers, weather can change quickly, and runners should expect steep, technical mountain terrain. Entry should not be taken lightly.

All finishers receive a unique, handcrafted finisher award.

100 Mile — July 24–25

A true backcountry epic.

The 100 Mile challenges runners with more than 23,000 feet of climbing across remote wilderness trails, high mountain passes, and long stretches between aid stations.

If you're looking for a hard-earned buckle and a genuinely wild mountain experience, this is your race.

There is no qualifying requirement, but please do not register unless you are prepared for the elevation gain, altitude, remoteness, and mileage. This course is no joke. Strong, experienced runners DNF here every year.

60K — July 24

This alpine grinder delivers approximately 9,000 feet of climbing over 37.2 miles, with massive climbs, high ridgelines, mountain lakes, and some of the most beautiful terrain in the Pioneer Mountains.

It's a tough, rewarding day in the mountains and an excellent challenge on its own or preparation for bigger high-altitude ultras.

30K — July 24

Don't let the shorter distance fool you—this is a true mountain race.

The 30K covers the second half of the 60K course and includes more than 4,300 feet of climbing on remote, rocky trails.

Expect roughly 4–6 hours on your feet, steep grades, and one hell of a sense of accomplishment when you cross the finish line.

If you're not ready for a long, tough day in the mountains, this isn't your race.

But if you are, you're in for something unforgettable.

Supporting Moms at Standhope

Mother athletes belong on ultramarathon start lines.

Standhope has intentionally built policies and race-day accommodations to make that possible, including:

Dedicated pumping and nursing spaces
Refrigerated breast milk transportation between designated locations during the race
Support for pumping equipment and milk storage
Pregnancy and postpartum deferrals
A race culture that welcomes moms, babies, and families

These aren't extras to us. They're part of building an endurance event where motherhood doesn't mean stepping away from the goals that matter to you.

Refund & Deferral Policy

We understand that plans can change. Our refund schedule is:

Through January 1: 100% refund
Through March 1: 50% refund
After March 1: Non-refundable

Shuttle fees and charity donations are non-refundable. We do not allow bib transfers or general rollovers to a future year.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Deferrals

We never want an athlete to feel like they have to choose between their health, their family, and losing their race entry.

If you become pregnant after registering, or pregnancy or postpartum recovery prevents you from safely participating, you may defer your entry to the following year at no additional cost.

Pregnancy and postpartum deferrals are an exception to our standard no-rollover policy.

Event Cancellation

In the event that the Standhope Ultra Challenge is canceled, postponed, or modified due to circumstances beyond the organizers' control—including wildfire, flooding, extreme weather, natural disaster, public health emergency, or government order—no refunds, credits, transfers, or deferrals will be issued.

Shuttle Van

If you need a shuttle ride for the 30K/60K, please make sure you purchase that ticket as those are separate. You can find that by following the link. https://nomadicvan.life and navigate to their shop to find our icon. For the safety of our shuttle drivers, you can only purchase tickets until July 17th. This allows them to plan their shuttles appropriately to the amount of racers needing shuttles. After that date, you will need to coordinate your own ride.
