Course

The Dogwood Ultra Marathons returns for its 10th year! And Virginia Adventures turns 10! To celebrate we have continue with the big changes we made last year. The 48 Hour event returns, and now starts on Friday morning. Once again we will offer 10 mile, 12 Hour Solo, 12 Hour Relay, 24 Hour Solo and 24 Hour Relay options. Each relay option can have anywhere from 3-6 participants. For the 5th consecutive year the race takes place at Twin Lakes State Park. All events run the same 3.35 mile loop course. Each loop features approximately 350 feet of elevation change and a couple of stream crossings. Sometimes you get your feet wet, sometimes you don't. Awards will be given to all runners finishing 50k, 50 mile, 100k and 100 mile distances. 100 mile finishers will receive a belt buckle. Participants have the option of running their 10 mile or 12 hour race during the day or night. Night races begin at 7:30pm on Saturday. Simply select the day or night choice at registration..

As a veteran owned business, we love giving back to those who help all of us. Teachers, Law Enforcement, Nurses, First Responders and Military should use the code THANKS at checkout for a discount. I do not offer refunds. Runners who contact me ahead of time may be able to roll over to another race or be deferred to next year

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in each distance.  Only the 1st place relay team will receive an award.  Finisher's awards will be given to all runners completing a 50k, 50 mile, 100k or 100 mile distance.  Runner's finishing 100 miles will receive a belt buckle.  Only complete laps will count.  Runners must finish their current lap by the time cap in order for it to count.  Runners must be present in order to qualify for a prize. The one exception to this is the 12 hour distance. Top 3 male and female will awarded combing both the 12 hour day and night runners. I will make arrangements to get you those prizes.  The following laps must be completed to achieve noteworthy distances:

50k- 9 laps (30.6miles)

50 miles- 15 (51.05 miles)

100k- 19 laps (64.6 miles)

100 miles- 29 laps + one partial lap (100 miles)
Beginning in 2020 all of our races will be cupless! the nice thing about the loop course though is that you can leave your cup at the start/finish line.

We cannot offer refunds or bib transfers. I can offer you deferral to next year's race

Last day to register and receive a shirt is February 28th

The Parent Loop

New this year is a short (essentially 5k race) within your race. We love seeing parents and children run a loop together. The concept is simple. The parent (or child) signs up to run one loop with their runner. They will receive a 5k finish time. They will also receive a shirt a finisher's award. Interested participants should register for the Parent Loop 5k

Hiker Category Added

Want to come out and get miles but aren't a runner? Sign up for the hiker category. Hiker participants still get credit (and finisher awards) for hitting mileage (like a 50k or 50 miler). They just don't have to run. At all.
