Quick Race Info
The 2026 Cancer Active Trail Race looks a little different this year, but in true fashion the goal is to #KeepMovingForward.
With Montreat College Trails currently closed due to major construction, we’re pivoting our annual gathering to Rainbow Mountain Trail in Montreat, NC for a community hike that honors what we’ve created the Trail Races to be and continue to celebrate the people who show up, again and again, through every kind of challenge life can throw!
Join us on May 16th for a 3–4 mile community driven hike at Rainbow Mountain Trail. This trail is a real workout, with steady to steep inclines on the way up and a slippery descent, so come prepared, take your time, and move at the pace that feels right for you.

We’ll meet at 9:00am!
The goal here is to choose movement, fresh air and connection even when plans change! Just like cancer warriors do every single day, IYKYK.
If you want to track or time your effort through UltraSignup, you are welcome to. If you want to show up and hike with a badass group of people who understand what it means to keep going through obstacles, this is for you too.
Come as you are, and keep moving forward with us.
SWAG
All 5k (and virtual) runners who register before the deadline will receive a race t-shirt. Runners who register after the deadline or on race day will also receive a shirt, but may have to accept an alternative size or style.
TRANSFER, WITHDRAWAL & DEFERRAL POLICY
Life happens. You shouldn’t have to worry about what to do if you end up not being able to participate in the race, and you shouldn’t have to pay for race insurance that you might not use. Our generous policies allow you to transfer your bib to another person or defer your entry to next year. Refunds will not be issued however. Runners can exercise these options at any time within the given timeframes for any reason whatsoever.
