Los Angeles' only trail race on Thanksgiving morning!! Escape the city and let it rip across the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains on gracious fire roads overlooking the gridlock, down glorious descents towards the Santa Monica Bay, on bobsled singletrack sections through the chaparal and with enough vert that you'll be thankful for the rest of the year.


Central to all of LA County, the race starts at the Top of Reseda Trailhead and heads towards the famous Nike Missile Tower at Westridge. The 1/2-Marathon turns down Sullivan Ridge for an epic descent, and returns up the tree-shaded and newly remodeled Sullivan Canyon. The 10k turns is a classic and turns around at the Nike Tower for a fast out and back, while the 4.5-mile route lollipops back early for a fun singletrack return.

Take away a soft race shirt, unique finisher medals and amazing race photography that's included with your entry. The LA Turkey Trail finishes with a thirst-quenching beer garden (21+), delicious vegan-friendly taco breakfast, sports massage treatment by Vision for Enrichment and an awards ceremony for 1/2-Marathon and 10k runners.

The Trail 1/2 Series

4 SoCalTrail 1/2 Marathons in 2024

Get finishes at the Boney Mountain ½ Marathon on September 21, the Point Mugu ½ Marathon and the new LA Turkey Trail ½ Marathon on Thanksgiving morning to earn the SoCalTrail "Trail ½ Series" award. Finishes from the Singletrack Stampede 22k on March 2, 2024 count towards the Series.
