2022 RACE DATE CHANGE
The 2022 will not be run on April 30. We are confirming a new date with OSU.
Current Oregon State University policy requires proof of COVID-19 vaccine or recent negative COVID-19 test.
This will be the 26th running of “The Mac” one of the oldest ultrarunning races in Oregon. A true old school gem, it is run primarily in Oregon State University’s McDonald Forest with a short section run on Starker Forest’s “hobbit trails.” Come experience the smooth lovingly-maintained singletrack trails along with the “magic of the maze” where time passes but miles do not. The race boasts one of the sweetest finishes of any race, a pine needle cushioned downhill trail.
The forest is in full bloom in late April; the dogwoods are glowing and the delicate calypso orchids dot the undergrowth. There are scenic views of the Cascades, the Coast Range and Soap Creek Valley.
This year we will have more single track trails and will return to McCulloch Peak, the highest point in McDonald Forest.
There will be at least $400 in prize money.
Corvallis Area Trailrunners is the 501(c)(3) public charity that distributes all the race proceeds which support local middle and high school cross-country teams, the Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit and the OSU Research Forest.
The race is limited to 300 entrants and you must be 18 years old on race day to enter. NO DOGS.
There will be a 7:00 am EARLY START.
