A Stroll In the Park 8- and 12-Hour Endurance Run
Join us on October 5, 2024 for the 2024 A Stroll in the Park Endurance Run. We're offering a choice of all-out running for 8 hours or 12 hours making October 5 a great opportunity for a long training run, accomplishing a new distance, or stretching for a new PR!
Event starts at 7:00 AM sharp and ends at 7:00 PM.
** Come out to beautiful Boling Park ready to rack up some miles. **
Registration and Race Information
You must register before October 5, 2024 to receive a race t-shirt.
The endurance event begins at 7:00 AM and ends at 7:00 PM. The 8-hour run ends at 3:00 PM.
Packet pick-up will be located at the pavilion to the right of the path. There is a restroom in the pavilion. The park has portable toilets near the running path, shaded areas, and plenty of parking. There are NO lights along the path. You may need head lamp until sunrise and then a bit after sunset. Wearing gaiters is recommended.
No refunds, transfers, rollovers, or deferments.
Runner Aid and Lap Counting
There will be one aid station with drinks, cold and hot food, cookies, candy, and anything else we can think of. Pizza, soup, and grilled cheese sandwiches will be offered later in the day. Some vegetarian items will be included. As there is plenty of parking close to the course, there is ample room for runners to set-up chairs, small tables, and other self-support items.
NEW THIS YEAR! Laps will be counted by RFI technology! Thanks to a generous gift from a friend of A Stroll in the Park, we have a RFI lap counting system. Of course, we'll have manual counting as a backup, but you'll be able to track your progress on the computer screen.
Course
The course loop is a one-mile (approximate) crushed gravel path with grass shoulder. Only complete laps are counted toward final mileage. There are no rocks or roots to trip you and the soft surface is kind to your legs. The course is located at Boling Park in Canton, GA so in the event of rain or snow, there will be wet areas to navigate. For those who are not trail runners and prefer not to run on asphalt, this race is for you!
A chart of the exact loop mileage and a chart of major distances, half-marathon, marathon and 50K, will be available at the event to ensure you attain your goal mileage!
Volunteers
We need volunteers to assist with race set-up, packet/bib pick-up, lap verifying, aid station support, and race site clean-up. Please let your family and friends know they can come with you to help out during the race! See the Volunteer Registration button next to Registration. Thanks!
Awards and prizes
Each 8-hour and 12-hour runner will receive an event completion award. Please ensure your current address is in Ultra Signup when you register. Runners present at the race site at 7:00 PM are eligible to win one of several prizes that will be raffled off at the close of the race. Runners must be present to win and no prizes will be mailed or given to anyone other than the runner.
