Join us for the 33rd running of Arizona's classic 50K footrace! From 'spines to pines' start lakeside and run through the heart of the Sonoran Desert to climb to the cool pines of the Bradshaw Mountains. Dynamic scenic change and tough and technical jeep road with 'just one climb!' A perfect 'first ultra' for any trail runner ready to make the jump to 50K!

Course Summary

The Crown King Scramble is a 50 kilometer point to point on dirt roads from Lake Pleasant Regional Park to the historic Crown King Saloon, high atop the Bradshaws in Crown King, Arizona. The race starts on the shores of Lake Pleasant and runs up maintained dirt roads winding through the desert amidst saguaro cactus and rolling hills. Upon reaching the mile 15 aid station, the true climbing begins and the course enters a 4×4 jeep road that features steep climbs, a few descents and a 4,000 foot climb to the high point of the course above Crown King at mile 29. The race tops out in the Ponderosa pines of the Prescott National Forest where runners enjoy cooler temperatures at elevation. A grand finale awaits each runners with a 2 mile screaming downhill into a celebration finish at the Crown King Saloon!
