COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS

We thank each one of our participants, in advance, as we implement basic COVID-19 precautions. Here are some of the basic steps taken: There will be absolutely NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. There will be limited registration for all races at the Susanville Historic Train Depot on Friday, May 7th. At the finish line area we will have additional handwashing stations and hand sanitizer available. Please mask up and and practice social distancing before/after your race. Runners will be asked to mask up from the start until they are out on the course and can spread out. Aid stations will be streamlined but will still offer gels, electrolyte drink, water, M&Ms, potato chips, bananas, oranges, Coca Cola, Mountain Dew, and Ginger Ale. We will minimize contact between runner and aid station workers. Our Finish line area will have canned/bottled drinks, fruit, and a snack bag for after your race. Age group awards and overall awards will still be available for pickup at the end of your race. We ask you to follow social distancing guidelines and maintain a 6-foot distance from other runners. The results will be posted in more than one place and periodically updated. As we get closer to race day, the race director will send out emails to update registered runners of any additions or changes.

About Paiute Meadows Trail Run

After taking a COVID break for 2020, join Lassen Land and Trails Trust as we showcase the region's premiere trail system with the 24th Annual Paiute Meadows Trail Run! The 4.5-mile course is the traditional cornerstone of all three distances as it twists and turns through towering pines, beautiful meadows and challenging climbs. The 5-year-old 50K and half-marathon (13.7) courses rival any true trail race in the region, with challenging climbs, water crossings, and a variety of terrain. Almost exclusively on single-track trails, runners experience breathtaking views as they run through a variety of beautiful landscapes. For our 2021 race we are implementing many safety changes to the start/finish, swag, aid stations, start times, and finish line party to keep our participants and volunteers safe. We strongly ask you to help us keep each other safe as we implement Covid-19 precautions. This is a MUST-DO race for trail runners around the entire region. In 2021 we will bring back our successful 50K 2-person relay!! Split into the lower trails and the upper trails, the relay course will follow the 50K map, with the exchange zone at Aid Station #3. At this point, we do NOT plan to host the Kid's 1 mile race, but if conditions improve, we will let everyone know.

PACKET & BIB PICKUP

Race packet pickup will be hosted at the Susanville Historic Train Depot, 601 Richmond Road, on Friday May 7, from 10 AM to 6 PM. We will offer limited registration at packet pickup. For those runners who are driving in on race morning, we will have race packet pickup at Susanville Ranch Park starting at 6 AM. Due to COVID-19 precautions, there will be absolutely NO race day registration.

Aid Stations

Our Aid stations are highly streamlined this year due to Covid-19. Unfortunately, we are not able to have all of the delicious snacks we've had in past years. We will still have water and Heed drink, as well as, gels. If we are able to expand on that, we'll let you know! We are requiring our Aid Station volunteers to wear masks at all times, wear disposable gloves, and to social distance from the runners. We are also requiring runners to mask up as you enter the aid stations and step away to drink.
