Honey Badger 100

Wichita, KS 100 Miler

This Event Took Place Sat. Jul 8, 2017

Honey Badger will now have a 50 mile (53ish) run and buckle which will end at the church. 100 mile runners who drop here will also receive a 50 mile buckle and an unofficial time. The relay race will now be one category of 2-5 runners. Relays may split the distance however they choose as long as one runner is moving outside the crew vehicle.

We are not allowing pacers for the 50 mile. We typically do allow pacers after the halfway point but honey badger is on a road with very little shoulder so you can’t walk side by side and we want to limit people on the road. The 50 mile will be completed almost entirely in the daylight as well.

Start & Time Limit

6 AM start; 36-hour time limit.
Competitors will be required to adhere to a 16 hour cutoff at approximately 50 miles.
These are hard deadlines.

Course Description

The start, finish, and a little over 7 miles are run in Cheney State Park (West Shore), approximately 6.5 miles at the beginning of the race and a little less than 1 mile at the end. Approximately 92.9 miles are run on roads in Kingman County.

Aid/Crew Support

All runners MUST provide their own crew (minimum 1 person) and vehicle, along with all food, and a minimum of 12 gallons of water and 30lbs of ice. 50 milers must have crew as well. If more than one crew member is assisting, an extra 5-gallon water cooler and large ice chest is highly encouraged. We will provide three STATIONARY ice & water replenishing points along the course and a roving replenishment vehicle that will re-supply ice & water only to all of the crew vehicles/competitors throughout the event. It is the runner's crews full responsibility to access the stationary ice & water replenishment points on the course.
