Description

Due to COVID-19 and the continued uncertainty surrounding future state, county and town public health orders, the 2020 Telluride Mountain Run is cancelled. We recognize that many of you will be disappointed, and we share in that sentiment. We call these mountains home and truly enjoy showcasing the Telluride valley through this race, however we only want to do so when appropriate.
The Telluride Mountain Run brings many runners, associated friends and family, volunteers and support staff to this area for the race. Our number one priority is not only the health and safety of all individuals associated with the race but the community of Telluride as well. Limits on the size of group gatherings are expected to continue through the summer and into the fall and as the TMR heavily relies on a large number of volunteers and safety staff, we are unable to comply with group gathering restrictions and put on an event that adequately supports our runners.
ALL 2020 entrants will receive a full credit (100%) to be used in the 2021 Telluride Mountain Run and will have access to early priority registration. We understand that this might not be a perfect solution, but hope that you will see this as a fair and reasonable approach. We will communicate more registration specifics in January, 2021.
We thank you for your understanding and patience. These mountains aren’t going anywhere and neither are we. We look forward to running with you all in 2021.

The Telluride Mountain Run is a challenging and technical race in the San Juan Mountains above the beautiful historic mining town of Telluride, Colorado. With three challenging and technical routes, runners navigate old mining roads, singletrack and alpine tundra over mountain passes, exposed ridgelines, and high summits. TMR is extremely difficult with big elevation gain at altitudes above 13,000 ft. The focus of the race is the experience: the burn of high elevation, the striking colors of the San Juans, and the reward of finishing right where you started.
You should know... there are sections of this course that are extremely technical, steep and loose. This is a TECHNICAL MOUNTAIN RACE, NOT A TRAIL RUN- participants will be running to altitudes of over 13,000ft on exposed ridgelines and steep, rocky summits. The trails are extremely rocky and at times there are no trails at all. There are many sections of this course that will be exposed to falls, potential rockfall and hazardous weather. There will be safety personnel along sections of the route monitoring these hazards but all participants should be responsible for their own safety. THIS IS NOT AN EVENT FOR BEGINNERS.
