Aid Stations

This is a self-supported race. Runners are required to have their own "water and food drops" or crew meeting them along the course. We ask IF you have a crew that they, pull well off the road and shoulder allowing enough space for other runners to pass safely. It is the responsibility of every runner to ensure that they pick up all supplies and trash after finishing the race (nothing is to be left along the course after race completion). Runners will be responsible for getting back to the start from Waimea to Hilo or Mauna Kea Access Road intersection. Relay teams MUST PULL OFF THE ROAD TO SWAP RUNNERS. Anyone found blocking the road, blocking runners, or not pulling off completely and safely to swap runners, will disqualify their entire team. This is the only warning.

Cut Off Times

You have a luxurious 18 hours for completion of the 100k. However, you must reach the top of Saddle Road by Mauna Kea Recreation area in 10 hours. There is a 10-hour cut off for the 50k and 25k; an early start is available for these two races if you would like more time (please reach out to the race director after signing up to arrange).

Required Gear

Reflective apparel and lights are required for all runners. Temperatures could be between the low 40's with strong wind and rain to the mid 70's. You are responsible for your warmth and well-being. Prepare accordingly.
