CHANGES FOR 2025:
Introducing the Bear Tag:
The first place guy and gal at the 2025 White Pine 50 get an automatic entry into the next Bear 100! For more info click
HERE. Refunds vs. Rollovers:
Rollovers put us in the red last year, so they gotta' go. If you have a rollover from previous years we honor it for 2025, but from here-on-out no new rollovers. We'll do refunds instead, as long as someone is on the waitlist to replace you.
Flexible Start Time:
If you are concerned about the cut-offs, you may start anytime early on Saturday morning. Details will follow.
About the WP50
The White Pine 50 Backcountry Run will take you on an adventurous looped-course through beautiful Upper Logan Canyon in Northern Utah. We'll start and end at Beaver Mountain Ski Area, and follow some of the legendary Bear 100 course along the way.
For those who enjoy fishing while they run we'll have a special prize for Fish Slapping the WP50! Keep reading for more details. Please see the Runner's Guide here.
Course Description
NOTE: Beaver Mt. will be under construction during the summer season of 2025. The exact start/finish, parking and camping situation will be determined closer to race day. You can check out the map and elevation profile here. A GPS file is downloadable by selecting the "Export" icon in the upper-left portion of the screen.
Please see our Runner's Guide with the full course description here.
Also please pay special attention to the notes regarding course marking and hydration along the course.
Fish Slap:
What is Fish Slapping? Check it out here. Lucky fish-runners (Fish + Run = FUN!) will be eligible for special prizes! See the Runners Guide for more information.
Camping & Lodging
You may camp at Beaver Mt. for $15/night. Beaver Mt. will collect and regulate this. A limited number of tent sites are available. Car/Van/RV camping is permitted in the parking lot. Unfortunately the showers and flush toilets have been closed due to the construction.
Free, dispersed camping is often available along the nearby Beaver Creek and Franklin Basin Roads. Area campgrounds run by the USFS include Sunrise (Bear Lake Overlook), Lewis Turner and Tony Grove.
If camping isn't your thing, check out Beaver Creek Lodge less than a mile from the start line. Garden City and Logan have many options as well.
