Rumble 2021 Info

April 6 Update, COVID Protocols:

March 30 Update, Wave Start Times

March 11 Update: One month until it's time to Rumble! As we found out last year, things can change really fast, but as far as I know, it's still going to happen and I'm planning and preparing for it to happen.
I've been getting a lot of requests from people who aren't registered, asking if there's room to squeeze them in or if there's a wait list. The answer to both of those is no. While I was hopeful that I might be able to let more runners rumble this year, it's not looking like that will happen. So if your name isn't on the Entrants List here on UltraSignUp, then you're not in. Sorry. Next year I'll be able to let more runners in again.
I am currently still working on all of the COVID protocols, and they will be emailed to Rumblers and posted on the website. A few things I know for sure:
-Wave starts, ~30 people every 5 min
-Masks over your mouth and nose at the start, aid stations, and finish line
-No crews or spectators at aid stations or anywhere else on course
-Limited food choices at aid stations
-Finish line food and beverages are for 2021 Rumblers only
-Limit your post-race hang-out time (this one kills me the most)
-The 40-miler is going to be closer to 36ish miles

Things are going to be a bit different for the 2021 Rumble because of that whole global pandemic we have going on. We're not exactly sure what will be different, or how things will be different, as the situation is very fluid, but things will be different. First, we're pretty certain it's going to happen, and thus, are opening registration in early December like normal, but as we've all learned in 2020, no race is 100% to take place. Hopefully the race venue at Sisters Middle School will remain the same, but that's also not a guarantee. If we can't have it there, we're already working with the Forest Service on other potential venues.

Packet pickup and post-race chillin' will both almost certainly be different.

Some things that will be the same: dogs will be Rumblin', finishers will get their sweet finishers' socks, and post-race burritos will be enjoyed (probably not do-it-yourself style, though).

If you're still wanting to Rumble with us on the second Sunday in April, then please read on and regsiter.

If you were registered for the 2020 Rumble and chose to get a 75% rollover of your registration fee to the 2021 race, you still need to register. To do so, register like normal under your account, and when you get to the payment/check-out page, there will be a credit on your account equal to 75% of what you paid last year. Note that you need to use the same UltraSignUp account that you used last year.

The Course

The 40 mile is mostly trail with some dirt road sections. The first quarter is gentle uphill, second quarter is gentle downhill, third quarter starts with a gentle up before a couple of long, 2-mile uphill grinders, and the final quarter is gentle downhill (with some sweet views!), making for a fast finish. Mud is very likely, and snowy sections are possible. The 20 mile is gentle uphill for the first half, and gentle downhill for the second half. Upon reaching the ridge, there are beautiful views of many of the Central Oregon Cascades peaks.

Local time: 7:31 AM
