About
This is a loop course on the Talladega Forest roads surrounded by forest and the Pinhoti Trail. The race starts at the infamous or not so infamous “Frog Pond Overlook” which is an overlook for you guessed it…no not frogs, BIRDS. The course is comprised of maintained dirt and gravel forest roads the entire loop.

All race distances start at 6:00PM on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The direction of the course will change each year. EVEN years, the course will run COUNTER CLOCKWISE. ODD years, the course will run CLOCKWISE. .

Other
I totally get that work gets in the way and injuries happen but there are No refunds, deferrals or transfers. Money is spent on permits, insurance and swag well before the race. In the event of a forest fire or natural disaster, registration will be deferred to the next year.
In the event that you need or want to change distances BEFORE race day, you can only do this if the distance you want is not sold out. Once a distance is sold out, then you can only be added if someone cancels their registration and there isn't someone on the waitlist.
There will be 2 preview runs before the race, Saturday, June 29 at 6pm (CST) and Saturday, July 13 at 6pm (CST). For constant updated race information, follow our Dirty Soles Trail Races Facebook page.
Giving Back
The Alabama Pinhoti Trail is a Southern Appalachian Mountains long-distance trail, 335 miles in length. We race, hike and enjoy the beauty of these trails thanks to the hard work of volunteers and the Us Forestry. A percentage of race registration will go to the Talladega National Forest.
