Beatdown On Drummer
UPDATE: Due to an unforeseen land closure and power line project by Eversource, we have had to make some changes to the course. Don't worry, it hasn't gotten any easier. The course is now 4.25 miles and is a lollipop style course. And there may be a bit more vert, you know, for fun!
So lets cut to the chase.... We all know its been one heck of a year and trying to plan out events has been quite the headache. We decided again to forgo the traditional Drummer Hill Trail Race this spring, as we didn't quite know how things in the Covid-19 scene would be evolving. We decided we wanted to offer something for the fall when we felt things might possibly resemble whats been referred to as "normal". Enter Beatdown On Drummer!
This 6 hour race is being held on a 4.25 mile, lollipop course. The course consists of technical single track, forest roads, and some scenic views. You like elevation gain? Great! You'll get around 800 feet of gain per loop!
Racers may start a lap as long as the 6 hour time limit has not expired. And it goes without saying that laps must be completed to be counted. The runner with the most laps completed wins. Pretty simple.
Given safety guidelines from the pandemic, we are making this race a BYO type of event. We will provide water for your hydration needs, but all food items that you wish to enjoy, you must bring yourself. There will be plenty of space for racers to bring their supplies to base camp (the start and finish area) and get yourself set up to refuel between laps. There will be no aid out on the loop.
This race is put on by Scores Running Club. Proceeds from this event go towards local youth running programs and scholarships. There will be no refunds, deferrals, or bib exchanges.
Event's current local time: 9:19 PM ET
