Southern Singletrack Trail Series - Race #4

THE GREAT BEND IN THE HOOCH TRAIL 5M/12M RUN

Race Description

Southern Singletrack Trail Series is thrilled to announce the 4th annual The Great Bend in the Hooch Trail Run –12 Miler / 5 Miler. The race will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 8AM EST to benefit WILD - Women's Initiative for Learning and Discovery.

For the 12-mile option, this is a loop race starting at the boat ramp on the west side of the park headed eastbound along the rolling hills of the 5 miles of the Wild Turkey trail up to Trailhead 1 and then down the Access Road to the west end of the flat and fast 5 miles of the Riverside Trail headed back to the Finish! The 5-mile option includes headed eastbound on the rolling hills of the Wild Turkey Trail headed up to Trailhead 2 and then back down to the Tower Trail that cuts over to the Riverside Trail near the Observation Tower and back to the finish line!
Both options of this race promise an epic mix of rolling, non-technical yet super-fast singletrack trails along the Wild Turkey Trail and ending in flat and fast Riverside Trails. If you stop or slow down long enough you will enjoy tons of wildlife, lots of low-lying waterways, and many natural trails along the race course. So, come on out to the one of the newest State Parks in Georgia and enjoy some of the most runnable undiscovered singletrack in the west Georgia area.
