Cotter Bridge Ultra
Formerly known as the Arkansas Backyard Ultra Championship, we present you the Cotter Bridge Ultra.
A one of a kind event that blends our previous format with a unique concept.
Venue
Big Springs Park in Cotter Arkansas
This is a great event for the family. There's fishing, swimming, a rope swing, and playground at the venue.
Overview
This is a timed event with a twist.
At 7am, all runners start a 4.1667 mile lap. All runners have 59 minutes and 59 seconds to finish the lap.
At 8am, all runners start lap #2.... and so forth.
On lap #6, all 6 Hour runners will be racing for time. All 6 hour finishers will have finish time of 5:XX:XX [h:mm:ss] that determines his or her respective place.
Runners competing in 12 or 24 hours will continue until their respective race.
6 Hours = 25 Miles
12 Hours = 50 Miles
24 Hours = 100 Miles
Lodging
Cotter is a premier vacation destination in North Central Arkansas. There are dozens of scenic campgrounds and several historic vacation rentals within a mile of the venue.
Course
This course is a 2.08 mile out then back. It is a mostly flat, soft surface, 8 to 10 feet wide, mostly fine gravel. It follows the White River. There are no turns or opportunities to get lost. It is scenic and a fantastic opportunity to go sub-24 hours on a 100 mile distance.
Swag, Post Race, and Awards
Standard Syllamo Events Swag includes a race shirt, stickers, and some giveaways from sponsors. Every event offers hats and other items available for purchase.
All Syllamo Events offer a lively, family friendly atmosphere with food, music, and activities. Meals are provided for all runners and extra meals are available for family/friends.
Cotter Bridge Ultra awards are custom made and specific to each time/distance. We vary the award from year to year but have included glass pints, hand crafted clay ornaments, and laser engraved coasters.
