Chocorua Mountain Race presented by adidas TERREX
The Chocorua Mountain Race kicks off the White Mountain Endurance Cup and is an epic and rugged mountain course in the Whites with 4,800 feet of climbing starting and finishing from Scott Road in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The race starts fast and flat through the field before hitting the singletrack at the Hammond Trailhead and ascending 2.8 miles and 1,900 feet on the Hammond Trail to the Liberty Trail junction. Runners then take the sharp left onto the Liberty Trail and descend more than 1,600 feet in 2.5 miles to reach the one on course aid station.
From there, runners enter the Forest Service trailhead and run on rolling singletrack to the Brook Trail and then make an arduous loop up and over the 3,478 foot summit of Mount Chocorua on trails filled with rocks, roots, boulders, steep ledges, and even some rivers and brooks filled with frigid mountain water!
After descending off the steep ledges of Mount Chocorua, runners take the Liberty Trail back down to where it connects with the Hammond Trail, and then descend the final 2.8 miles and 1,900 feet to reach the finish line where the party is waiting!
