25K/50K Trail Races

This will be a true trail run. Most of the course will be on true single track with about 2500+ft of climb in the 25k and 5000+ft in the 50k. There will be no prerequeisites for entry.

This race will be a test of your mountain running abilities! It takes grit to get you to the top of the mountain. If you want to challenge your spirit, your lungs, and your legs, this might be the perfect test for you.

With some intense climbs and technical nature of this mountain, your mental toughness and physical abilities will be tested. While there are hard sections of this race full of elevation gain, what goes up must come down.

There are only a few parts of the race that are not shaded by the full canopy and most of the trail is beautiful single track and double track. Most of these trails originate from Century old logging trails to multi-century old native American populations that lived here up until the Civil War. There are numerous monumental marks along the course.

There are at least four Indian trees which are signified by the signature double L curve marked by man when the trees were yearlings. They were used to mark important pathways and vantage points, and still stand strong today.

The trails also have an amazing runoff style waterfall at the bottom of Pancake Hollow that is beautiful following a rain. Aid stations are infamous spots throughout the trails of these mountains. Blake’s Cabin is the old hunting cabin where the farmers came to hunt in nature and provide for their families.

Sublett Point has a beautiful overlook that you can see incredible views in three different directions. It also signifies that you’re almost done with the course, or at least lap 1 of 2!

Silo Hill is at the bottom of the downhill descent that is gnarly and fun. This is the old unused grain silo since this was all farmland beneath the mountain. Once you descend quickly down this rugged trail you can stop at the aid station. Before making your way back the only out at back section of the course.

The other aid stations will be placed it critical points on the course no more than 4 miles apart so you can stay hydrated and filled up for your continued adventure.

Don’t expect this course to be easy. It’s punchy and hard at times. Yet, it’s runable and fast in others. Enjoy all that these beautiful mountains have to offer and race on a course that you can come back to year after year for the amazing experience that is the McMullen Cove trail system.

Race Starts at the McMullen Cove Club House Two Mountain Trail.

Both the 25k and 50k will start together at 7:00 AM - The course will be the same, with the 50k running the loop twice.
