Race, Run, Power-Hike/Walk or Crawl you have up to 30 hours to do your best in this EPIC event ! Welcome to the gateway of New England Running! The 30 Hour/100 mile EPIC event will take place on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 with a start time of 8:30 AM and run to Sunday, October 6th, ending at 2:30 pm or 30 Hours. Run, Power-Hike/Walk or Crawl: 26.2M, 50K, 50M, 100K, 100 MILES or more, it's up to you. On Saturday Morning from 6:00am you can choose a personal aid station to be used during the race or a "rest and recuperation station" in an adjacent field (NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance/Friday night) or use your vehicle with close access, including a porta-johns, as you loop through the day and night. Strating at 6am on the 5th, you can set up a personal area in the R&R lot across from the pavilion. Bib/Swag pick up starts in the pavilion at 7am; race start 8:30am.There will be an award for first to fifth overall with the fastest and most amount of miles in the 30 hours. An incredible buckle slection will be given at no additional charge to all those achieving 100 miles in the 30 hours, but that does not win the race; it is most miles achieved in 30 hours. On average, the course has roots and rocky terrain with one larger hill (nicknamed: "OMG"), that is very doable, so 2.23 miles times 45 loops gets you that fantastic buckle and great SWAG, too ! FYI: one Pacer is allowed per runner at a cost $50 for 12 hours (start time 2:30am, Sunday) and $25 for 6 Hours (8:30am to race-end 2:30pm (multiply runners can change off, however only one Pacer at a time (one charge fits all); they must register and sign the waiver, this allows them to hydration, food and insurance coverage, etc., pay at pavilion in hours just before 12 hours or 6 hours knowing the goal is within reach. Pacers must check-in for a Pacer wristband. Anyone using a unauthorized Pacer WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from the race !
Hydration, H20, GU, Power Bar and ultras-snacks day and night at the one aid station, the Pavilion area. Pizza, including pickle-pizza, will be served around Noon, Saturday, dinner around 5:30pm and breakfast sandwiches, Sunday at 8:30am (includes, Pacers). Only 50 slots (subject to change).
Lastly, a portion of the proceeds will include the Roosevelt Forest Commission, Veteran's Museum, Stratford Library and others. Also many thanks to the "paid" Volunteers for all thier time and effort; well worth the price in the support of the entrants. They and I thank you for registering.
A buckle would make an EPIC event, even better ! Please note: To maintain the competitive integrity of the event, registration is FINAL understanding that there are absolutely no refunds, bib transfers or race deferrals for any reason.Train safe, train well. Happy trails, Lou RD
