24TH ANNUAL OAK MOUNTAIN 50K
Oak Mountain 50K (2nd Oldest 50K in Alabama) course runs through forested hills of Oak Mountain State Park, established 1927, (Alabama's largest park (11,584 acres)), in Pelham, AL.Runners will continue on mostly single track trails with two climbs up to the top of Double Oak Mountain. Runners will work their way past the beautiful Peavine Falls that is an approximately 65 feet tall, naturally fed waterfall located at the top most ridge in Oak Mountain State Park. Runners will also traverse past Maggie's Glen & Shackleford Point (1.260 ft., highest point in the park). There are no repeating loops.

Course Description:
50K
Runners will start on the road next to Dogwood Pavilion.
Runners will take the yellow trail to the North Trailhead approx 8 miles, runners will take the Blue Trail to Peavine Falls for 6.5 miles. Runners will then turn around from the Aid Station and take the White Trail back to the North Trailhead for 6.5 miles. At this point, runners will traverse 5 miles on the Red Trail back to Peavine Falls Aid Station. From here, you will take Peavine Falls Rd for approx .5 mile & continue on the Red Trail to the Finish Line at Dogwood Pavilion. Elevation gain: approx. 3,600 feet

Runners will start on the road next to Dogwood Pavilion.
You will take the yellow trail to the North Trailhead for 8 miles.
Turn around, take the Red Bump Trail to your right for approx 6 miles to Terrace Dr.
Cross Terrace Dr. to the Lake Trail and continue to the Finish Line at the Dogwood Pavilion.

Oak Mountain State Park Entrance:
Passes for Oak Mountain State Park - will be purchased as you enter the front gate. Gates take cash or card. You will receive a pass to put in your vehicle, make sure it is visible.
$5 per Adult (age 12+)
$2 per Child (age 4 to 11)
$2 per Senior (age 62+)
Free for ages 3 & under
All Active Military, Retired Military, and Veterans are Free

The following are not allowed on course… any stroller, animals, bicycles, or unentered runners. Please keep all pets at least 50 feet from aid stations, start/finish line areas.

Camping is available at Oak Mountain State Park.
