Peavine Peak Hill Climb

Welcome to the inaugural Peavine Peak Hill Climb! Get ready to run to the top of Reno's skyline and back down with all your friends.

Course

Total mileage: 9.4 miles
Total Elevation Gain: 3,018 ft

Start from Melton Elementary School and run half a mile on access roads and neighborhood trails before reaching Chalk Canyon. Ascend Chalk Canyon on singletrack for 2 miles to your first aid station at the Peavine Road intersection. Leave the aid station and start the very steep ascent up a rocky ATV trail on Tower Ridge to the summit of Peavine Peak. Cross the summit and descend 2.4 miles on the smooth dirt of Peavine Road before your second aid station at the top of Chalk Canyon. Descend the same way you came up the canyon and back to the Elementary School.

6:30 am: packet pickup opens
8:00 am: race start
9:15 am: first finishers expected
12:00 pm: cutoff back at Melton Elementary School
