Make Fat Dog part of your journey in 2024!
Situated in the rugged Cascade mountain ranges of British Columbia, The Fat Dog experience is a true journey through remote Canadian wilderness. No matter which distance, it is our commitment to come alongside every racer and get them to the finish line and reach the goals they set out to achieve . We strive to accomplish this by offering a hospitable, inclusive, memorable, and fun event that is also extremely challenging in every aspect. Fat dog 120 is also very active in the maintenance and care of the extensive trail network that is used for our event. We recognize that it is a great privilege to run on these trails and it is one way of giving back to the outdoor community at large. Many of the trails incorporated have rich history connected to the area now known as British Columbia.
Course overview
Beginning near the community of East Gate, British Columbia, finishing in iconic E.C. Manning Provincial Park. The course is 124 Miles long, incorporating a point-to-point style route. Cumulative elevation gain is just over 26,240 feet or 8000 meters. The majority of the course is run on very remote technical, single track trail. Much of the course is far from road access and will take you through some of the absolute most scenic parts of southwestern British Columbia. You will travel from valley bottoms up into high sub-alpine terrain with many panoramic views along the way. Not "just" 100 miles!!
This year's event will have the 120 mile start on Friday August 9, 2024, while the 100 km, 50 mile and 40 mile will start Saturday August 10, 2024.
