IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATES
UPDATE: May 10, 2020
We are continuing to closely monitor the pandemic and keep a close eye on potential impacts to the Bear Chase, and we're currently optimistic we'll be able to move forward with our original race weekend of September 26-27, pending the continued gradual lifting of restrictions. However, if we get into July and things are not looking good, then we will look at alternative options (ideally a short postponement to October), and make a decision as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, registration is still open so runners can sign up for the wait list, however your credit card will not be charged until we are in the clear to hold the event. (Once we are 100% good to race, you will be contacted to confirm and charge your card at that time, and make your registration official.) This way you can secure your spot in the race, and will be given first priority. There's always the chance our field may be limited, so I would recommend taking advantage of this option to reserve your spot. Those runners who have already signed up and paid for their registration for the weekend of September 26-27, you're good to go for now.
Please stay engaged with us through our Facebook page, and we’ll continue to post updates as we receive any new information. Stay healthy and smart with your training as the weather continues to warm up and the days get longer... My race staff and I are looking forward to seeing you all on the trails soon!

The Bear Chase Trail Race
The Bear Chase Race Endurance Festival is a 100k, 50 mile, 50k, Half Marathon and the Baby Bear 10k Trail Race at beautiful Bear Creek Lake Park, in Lakewood, CO. An excellent race for first time ultramarathoners and trail runners, runners will experience a variety of challenging terrain and sweeping panoramic views throughout the race. The course is pretty fast (by trail/ultra standards), and not overly technical. 95% of the race course is on dirt and single track trails. Approximate elevation gain: Baby Bear 10km = 230 ft. Half Marathon = 900 ft. 50km = 1,930 ft. 50 Mile = 3,400 ft. 100km = 4,250 ft. Proceeds of the race benefit the open spaces and trails of Lakewood, ProjectPurple.org, and Conifer's StageDoor Theatre. Voted Best Trail Race in Competitor Magazine’s “Best Of” runner poll, 2010-2016.
