Lake Yahou was just opened up in May 2022 for recreational use. We are lucky enough to be the first trail race starting at the lake. If you ran our McClellan Madness race, then you are familiar with the other side of the mountain where we will have an aid station.
The trails are comprised of (for the most part) non-technical, single-track dirt. Obviously, it’s nature, so there are rocks and roots. The trail is very runnable for new and seasoned trail runners with just a few spots that have rocks/boulders.

Three loopty loops.
Elevation: around 3000 feet
Cutoff: 10 hours
10 miles
One and done.
Loop Distance: 10 miles with some extra credit for a total of 10.5 miles
Elevation: around 1000 feet
Cutoff: 4 hours
5 miles
Half and done.
Loop distance: 5.5 miles +/- depending on your watch.
Elevation: around 551 feet.
Cutoff: 3 hours.
Aid Stations
There will be two fully stocked aid stations. One at the start/finish and one on the opposite side of the mountain at the other trail head, around 3.8 miles from the start. If you ran McClellan Madness, it’s the start/finish for that race.
Perks, Awards, Finish
Each finisher will receive a very cool, one of a kind hand painted finisher ROCK. If you drop to the lower distance during the race, you will not get a finisher rock. You won’t leave empty handed though; I’ll gladly give you one hell of a high five.
Awards will be given out for the top three female finishers and top three male finishers for each distance. You will not be considered for a top award if you drop to a lower distance mid race.
Finish line will have music, food and beverages. Come hang out and enjoy the party afterwards. You deserve it.
SHIRTS: To keep the cost of the race lower this year, shirts will be offered for purchase only. Ultrasignup has added fees to the $20 shirt price. The shirt cost is $20. Ultrasignup charges $2.00 for tax and $4.37 processing fee. I have deleted the option to purchase a shirt since this is not keeping the cost down. If you want to purchase a shirt please MESSAGE ME! Shirts are long sleeve, Bella Canvas brand. SHIRT DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 10 at noon!
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will be on race day at the start line from 7:00am to 7:50am.
Beat the Best
If you come in overall (female and male) and beat the best time from previous years in the distance you sign up for, then you will get a free entry to come back the next year.
Giving Back
We will be making a donation to the McClellan Development Authority who maintains our trails.
Refunds, Deferrals and Transfers
I understand that injuries happen, things come up unexpected. I have lost a ton of money on races that I have signed up for that I couldn't run myself. From the moment runners start to register, the money is spent on permits, insurance, swag, shirts, and everything that goes into putting on a great race. Because of this, there are NO refunds. NO deferrals and NO Transfers.
