The humans only 5K starts at 7:30 and the pups and human 5K starts at 8:15.

Registration is $35 through October 25 and $40 race morning.

Pets are such a vital part of so many of our lives, so come race your heart out or take a stroll, and help us support two organizations whose missions are to care for pets in need and to make sure those who are struggling are able to care for and have their pets in their lives.

Doggie Costume Contest

It's Howl-o-ween! Of course there's a costume contest! With prizes!

Course & Race Info

The start/finish area for Doggie Dash 5K is the Crystal Springs Picnic Area in Griffith Park (behind the Griffith Park Ranger Station/baseball fields). The 5K is one loop around the golf course. If this is your first 5K, 5 kilometers = 3.1 miles. The path is packed dirt and flat.

7:30 AM - Humans Only 5K: The first 5K is for two footers only - no pups allowed. If you don't have a dog, or your partner/spouse/child won the coin flip to race with your dog at 8:15, this is the race for you.

8:15 AM - Pups & Human 5K: The main event is a 5K for pups (on leash) with their human. No solo humans allowed. One pup per human and the race limit is 100 entries. You can fly as fast as your pup pulls you or leisurely stroll the 5K around the golf course.

There will be a water stop (for both you and your pup) about halfway through the 5K.

Angel City Pit Bulls takes in dogs (mainly from our local shelters) that fall under the generic term pit bull who demonstrate people-soft, responsive qualities and solid temperaments. Their adorableness and gushy love of people make them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner or a potential “therapy dog”, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Pups Must Be ON LEASH & Rules

General Racing Rules
Griffith Park requires all dogs in the park to be on leash.
• No retractable leashes. These leads don't allow you to control your dog well enough for a crowded situation like a race.
• No leashes longer than 6 feet. You'll need to keep your pet as close to you as possible to avoid potential conflicts with other dogs.
• No unfixed animals. Unneutered males and unspayed females are generally not welcome at most public dog events.
• No aggressive dogs. If Fido doesn't do well with other animals or people, he should chill at home.
• All dogs must be current on vaccinations. You should always make sure your pet is current on shots just in case, but it is especially important if he's going to be spending time with other dogs.
• Be prepared to clean up after your dog. (Don't forget your plastic bags!)

Race Day Registration (if not sold out) & Packet Pick-Up

Packet/T-shirt pick-up is race morning, starting at 6:45 AM. If race is not sold out, you can register in person race morning. We will update this webpage if the race sells out. Please note an additional $5 late fee applies for same-day registration.
