Ruck Option: Babler Bongo 15K RUCK!
Ruckers will need to carry a backpack/rucksack/weighted vest that weighs at minimum 20 lbs (not counting water or food used in race). All ruck division finishers will receive a custom Babler Bongo 15K Rucking patch!
*$5/race registration for the Ruck Division will be donated to DOGS for our BRAVE
Babler Bongo 15K is now part of the Trail Mix Fund!
In an effort to improve diversity in trail racing and remove a potential barrier for the under-served and under-represented, the Trail Mix Fund pays the race registration fee for runners who cannot afford it or aren’t sure they belong in the sport.
We also believe that there are more BIPOC & LGBTQ+ people who would like to race and would enjoy being part of the community but aren’t comfortable taking that step of signing up to race. Waiving the registration fee alone won’t solve this problem, but maybe it can help some.

INTRO
The 3rd Annual Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK is the first foot race to be hosted at Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial Park, Wildwood, MO on October 24, 2026, to kick off fall racing season!

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK will start/finish at the Guy Park trailhead @ Henry Babler Enclosed Shelter in Babler State Park. The Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK is a loop course connecting Dogwood, Woodbine, Hawthorn and Equestrian trails at Babler State Park.
Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK is a great introduction to trail racing for beginners as well as a challenge for the more experienced trail runners!
Course Distance - 15K with approximately 1,350 feet of elevation gain.

Check In and Packet Pick Up: 7:30AM - 8:15AM @ Henry Babler Enclosed Shelter at Guy Park Trailhead
Cutoff time - 3.50 Hours

Other cut-off times to note that will be strictly enforced are as follows:
All runners must be checked OUT of the out/back loop at 7-ish Miles prior to 11:15 AM on their way back to the start/finish.
Out/Back Loop Cut-Off - 2.45 Hours
*Volunteers will be stationed at the Out/Back Loop*
*Please note if a runner is unable to make the above listed cut-off times at the they will not be allowed to continue on the course*

AID STATIONS:
There will be ONE aid station/water drop on course at approx. 4.5 Miles on the loop. The aid station/water drop will be unmanned and ONLY have water.
This is a CUP FREE event so be sure to run with a handheld or hydration vest and carry a collapsible cup with you for water.

PLEASE NOTE: Babler Bongo 15K Trail Race/15K RUCK is a CUP-FREE event. Which means there won't be any paper and/or plastic cups at the race. We won't be making any exceptions to this rule!
BRING YOUR OWN MUG AND CARRY A HANDLED DURING THE RACE IF YOU NEED WATER!
