Race Info

**In an effort to keep Holiday Lake an affordable race yet continue to offer high quality finisher swag, standard registration DOES NOT include a cotton t-shirt as it has in years past. A long-sleeve cotton shirt will be offered as an add-on for a modest cost.** Final day to order a shirt and/or hoodie is February 1, 2023. Extra shirts and hoodies will be available for purchase on race day, but not at the discounted price offered at time of registration.

25k/50k runners will receive a custom designed BOCO beanie at check-in and Rabbit tech shirt upon finishing. 10k runners will receive a custom designed BOCO beanie at check-in and a special award upon finishing. All runners are invited to Friday's pre-race briefing (pizza is provided) and the post-race lunch.

Along with our 50k and 25k distances we introduced a 10k+ option in 2022! We're excited to bring this back for 2023 as an option for kids/spouses/partners who might have someone running in the 25k/50k. The 10k will traverse mostly single-track trails around beautiful Holliday Lake. Check out the trail map on our website.

Lodging - Holiday Lake 4H camp has several heated bunkhouses with capacity for 90+. Bunks in the bunkhouse are $20. The camp also offers 12 un-heated cabins with 4-6 bunks in each that are well suited for runners coming as a group who prefer to bunk together. $5 per person for unheated cabins. The un-heated cabins offer electric, but are otherwise "rustic." Tent camping is always an option in the field adjacent to the start/finish line. There is a $5 charge for tent camping. There are also two hotels in Appomattox. Links to the hotels are on our website.

We encourage runners to stay Friday night at the camp with us! Anyone who ran (or tried to run) in 2021 will know very well how conditions in mid-February can turn in an instant. 2021 runners experienced an ice storm the morning of the race, which prevented over 100 runners from starting the race because of road conditions.

The pre-race briefing, for the first time in two years, is scheduled for Friday evening at the 4H camp. Pizza will be offered to anyone who joins us.

Training Runs: We have two scheduled - 1/21/23 and 1/28/23 at 7:30am. Most runners will run one loop (approx. 16 miles), but there are shorter options if desired. We will meet at the Holiday Lake 4H camp at the start/finish of the race. water and snacks will be provided at mile 8.

About
