Why
It is our mission at GUTS to help support our State Parks for future generations to enjoy! Over the past few years, Red Top Mountain has faced significant budget cuts. In late June 2010, the park closed the Mountain Cove Restaurant and Lodge accommodations. Not wanting to see the restaurant space go unused, the Friends of Red Top Mountain organization stepped in to transform the old restaurant into the Mountain Discovery Room for programs and hands-on learning. The new family-friendly activity center features exhibits about the site's rich mining history as well as local wildlife education. Red Top Rumble is proud to continue supporting the Friends of Red Top Mountain for their continued renovations and new programs within the park.
